What would your work nickname be?

Momo, which is just short for Monique, but it makes me all happy inside when people use it!

Where were you born and raised? If not Colorado, what brought you here?

I was born in Valleta, Malta and raised in Tripoli, Libya. Moving to the States when I was 14 to go to boarding school in Massachusetts. I moved to New York after graduating college and met my first husband and moved to Colorado. We raised our children in Colorado, then divorced and I am now married to my childhood sweetheart, whom I met while in school in Libya.

When did you join Rocky Mountain Catering, and in what position did you start?

Monique Fischer came on board at RMC in March of 2017 in corporate sales after several years in the catering industry.

What is the favorite part of your job?

I enjoy all aspects of event planning including the menus and décor. Working with my client from start to finish and making them look good to their bosses and peers. There is so much hustle and bustle the day of the event and I thrive in problem solving and pulling it all together.

What inspires you?

Foremost, I am inspired by my children! They keep me grounded and are the light of my life.

When not at work, what are you doing?

I enjoy traveling, exercising, eating healthy, reading, cooking…and spending as much time with my kids (as much as they will allow me to) and husband. Going on a run in the morning with my dogs Hank and Lucy, is the perfect way to start any day.

What is your favorite food? Why?

Don’t laugh…I love eggplant. It is a part of my culture and I love how it absorbs the flavors you are cooking with.
